Family Day: Abstract Adventures: 10 a.m.-noon, Georgia Museum of Art, 90 Carlton St.; learn about abstract art and view some of the museum’s abstract paintings; classroom work will follow where guests will make an abstract work; email collardj@uga.edu or www.georgiamuseum.org.

Farmer for a Day Farm Tour: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., The Veggie Patch, Bouchard Farms LLC, 751 Nunn Road, Commerce; USDA Certified Organic; site features greenhouses for year round growing, and multiple fields for seasonal produce; uses sustainable agriculture methods, OMRI certified organic fertilizers, OMRI certified organic pest management, and spring fed water sources; participants will visit to gain insight into some of the low-impact agricultural methods used in the community; group will participate in project the grower has prepared; lunch is free for all volunteers; a full tour of the farm will follow lunch; each tour is limited to 25 participants; sign up at athens.locallygrown.net/market.
